The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)...

RSVP...

...helps individuals age 55 and older to use their life experiences and skills to work for their communities.  Funded by the Corporation for National Service and sponsored locally by the Voluntary Action Center, RSVP has been helping seniors make a difference in Lackawanna County for over 25 years.

RSVP volunteers do...

...just about everything.  They visit young people who have profound mental challenges, counsel elderly consumers about their health insurance options, serve meals to the homeless, teach children about the environment and so much more.  The number of hours they serve is flexible.

RSVP volunteers get involved...

...because it helps seniors stay active and involved.  Volunteers may either learn new skills or use the skills they've developed over a lifetime.  In giving back to their communities, seniors find that they get back even more than they give.  RSVP volunteers also receive supplemental accident and liability insurance, a quarterly newsletter, invitations to recognition events and educational seminars, and the opportunity to meet new friends.

Studies show that seniors who volunteer live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

You can get involved by...

...simply calling RSVP at 346-3630, you can become one of the many volunteers in Lackawanna County who are working with others to solve community problems!
